Exotic Vacay

So Scott and I decided that we need to take a fun, warm, exotic trip this summer before we succumb to med school and start a family. So we're trying to decide where to go and what to do.

Anybody got any suggestions or ideas?

So far we're thinking one of these:
-Drive to Cali, hang out on Laguna beach and explore the L.A. area (cheapest, not as exciting)
-Cruise to Mexico (including cabo, puerto vallerta, maztlan)
-Fly to Cancun for 5 nights

We're open to any ideas or suggestions from people who have been to cool places.

  1. Cali is a blast! you'd have lots of fun. Hawaii is obviously great.... ($$$$ though) a cruise is fun, but i personally would recommend just going to a resort or something before that. Mexico is nice and cheap... but depending on if you speak Spanish or not can be weird. We just got back from Puerto Rico and I LOVED IT!!!! It's american territory, so you don't need money exchange, you don't need a passport (nice if you don't already have one), it's not scary (like gangs or guns everywhere) and almost everyone speaks english. but at the same time it was totally still the latino culture experience. I would recommend cancun or puerto rico. Or Hawaii. :)

  2. how fun, how fun! I can't wait to hear your baby news! (It's exciting, by the way but I feel SOOO sick right now!)

My parents aren't much for travel, but Mitch's parents love it. They've been on 2 cruises (one while Mitch was on his mission--poor kid missed out!) and loved them. They even calculated what it would be like to spend an entire year on a cruise. You could look into that new Oasis of the Seas or whatever it's called--the biggest ship in the world--that looks amazing! Let us all know where you decide to go when you make up your minds!
