blake

Last night Blake did the cutest thing...

We put him in his swing and turned on the mobile with animals hanging from it. As soon as it started to move, he looked right up at it and started following the animals with his eyes and turning his head too! It was soooo cute! And cool and awesome. He watched them for awhile until they stopped and he fell asleep.

I can't believe how much more interactive he is these days! He is SO smiley and so happy all the time. Scott and I have had so much fun playing with him, smiling at him, hearing him try to giggle, and watching him kick and move. He is so dang cute and he is growing so fast! He is almost completely out of all his newborn clothes. They're too short to snap at the bottom. The 3 month stuff is snug at the bottom snaps, but loose around his belly. I guess his torso is growing long.

We just love our little guy!

  1. Hi Karissa! I love reading updates about little Blake. I'm glad he is such a good baby!

Here's my two-bits worth on naps. They are AWESOME. But just when you think you've got it figured out, baby changes his schedule on you (teething, catching a cold, whatever). The best thing I've found is to skip all the books & advice and just go by your own feeling. With that said, here's my advice :) If he's awake and happy, let him stay awake. If he starts getting fussy, try a nap but if it doesn't work, he's probably not ready. As long as he is sleeping well at night (and it sounds like he is an awesome nighttime sleeper, lucky!!) then naps will fall into place as he needs them. Some kids are super easy to get on a good nap schedule, others never really do. He will help you figure it out, though. Some days it does feel like you really don't get a thing done, and that your life revolves around sleep, eat, play, repeat (oh wait... that sounds familiar!)

  2. Cute cute!! :o) I remember the first time Nathan started watching the stuff on his swing, and the first time we realized he was watching his crib mobile.

We bought onesie extenders for Nathan, off a website called One Step Ahead. They sell a ten pack for ten bucks, which makes them a dollar apiece, the cheapest I found them on the internet. They work with two and three-snap onesies and just add a couple inches where they snap. It's worked very well for Nathan and he wears them all the time. He has such a long torso that he only has a couple good weeks where his clothes fit right, then they're too small!
